Who runs GridComfort

GridComfort is researched and written by Ilyas Alseitov (LinkedIn). I'm not a licensed HVAC technician or electrician, and the site doesn't pretend otherwise. Pages are built from the manufacturer's own documentation — owner's and installation manuals, service bulletins and support articles — and every page lists the documents it draws on; many code pages also give the revision and page for each code. Where the manual says a step is for a qualified technician, so does the page.

Found a mistake? Use the contact page — corrections are made against the source documents, and the page's "Last updated" date changes when they are.

About the site

GridComfort is a reference site about backup power and home climate equipment: home standby and portable generators, portable and window air conditioners, and dehumidifiers.

Pages are written against manufacturer documentation — owner's manuals, official support articles, and published spec sheets — plus public guidance from agencies such as the CPSC, CDC, DOE, EPA, and EIA. Every technical claim on a page comes from a source listed at the end of that page. Where a manufacturer doesn't publish something (a code definition, a part number), the page says so instead of guessing.

The site also maintains free calculators — generator wattage and fuel, room AC BTU, dehumidifier sizing, and electricity cost — each with a methodology page that lists its data sources and formulas.
