About GridComfort

GridComfort is a reference site about backup power and home climate equipment: home standby and portable generators, portable and window air conditioners, and dehumidifiers.

Pages are written against manufacturer documentation — owner's manuals, official support articles, and published spec sheets — plus public guidance from agencies such as the CPSC, CDC, DOE, EPA, and EIA. Every technical claim on a page comes from a source listed at the end of that page. Where a manufacturer doesn't publish something (a code definition, a part number), the page says so instead of guessing.

The site also maintains four calculators — generator wattage, room AC BTU, dehumidifier sizing, and electricity cost — each with a methodology page that lists its data sources and formulas.
