Generator maintenance guides

These pages answer the parts questions that come up at service time: which oil and how much, which maintenance kit fits, which battery to buy, and where the owner's manual for a specific model is. Most of them are Generac-specific. The oil page gives viscosity, capacity and change interval by model; the maintenance kit page matches Generac kit part numbers to generator models; the battery pages cover which battery Generac specifies, how it is swapped, and the A0010137452 battery used on Next Generation units; the manuals page links Generac's own PDFs by model.

If you don't know your model, start with the serial number page. Generac's own lookup asks for the serial or model number, and the page shows where both are printed on the unit.

The oil finder covers other brands as well, by exact model, using each maker's own manual. Where a manual leaves a value out, the page says so rather than filling the gap with a guess.
